Niagara Falls for Christmas

To finish off an incredible road trip, we were spending Christmas at Niagara Falls in the Embassy Suites Hotel. Of course its not quite the same as having Christmas at home but having such an incredible view of the falls was a still a very merry Christmas for us.

On Christmas morning we woke up late and then called the family to show off our magnificent view. (Which is what I will do again now below)

We booked to have our dinner at The Keg restaurant in our hotel later that evening. To kill some time we went for a Christmas walk, which was a bit chilly but the weather stayed clear for us.

To our surprise, we found pretty much all the shops were open as usual. It was strange to see and as we passed through the mall begged the question, who is going to the maple syrup store on Christmas?

Luckily Tim Hortons was open so we bought a large London Fog and made our way to the casino. Of course gambling machines don’t care that it’s Christmas and we both lost $40 each – whoops.

Back at our hotel we got ready and headed down for our Christmas dinner. I had the chicken and to drink, I had a basil and lemon gin and tonic which was wonderful.

To finish Christmas, we watched Bridget Jones and The Holiday whilst tucking into a box of chocolates… Not for long though because no offense Canada, I love you but your chocolate is awful.

Boxing day was spent travelling to the farm and then it was back to work for us. We were happy to see the cats but missing being on the road. Those 4am starts were a bit of a shock to the system too!
