Spend that little extra on a decent poncho, seriously.
I bought myself a poncho worth the equivalent of 30p and I was very chuffed with myself. Not only had I scrimped to the maximum, I was prepared for the rain. Bring it on I thought.
The first time I used it, it was absolutely fine. Not as good as the suit poncho I now have drying in my bathroom, but good enough to keep my top half dry.
The second time I used it, somehow there was a huge cut in the neck area. It was in shambles after that. We decided to call it a day as I was getting progressively soaking wet and headed back. My poncho was so broken it served better as a sail then anything else. As you can see from my photos.
Learn from my mistake… GET A DECENT PONCHO.
