Stanton Drew Stone Circle, Bristol

With my new found freedom I can now go on spontaneous walks to places I’ve always wanted to go. It’s great but I’m still feeling a little off and adjusting. I’ve joined the gym and the walks are helping but I’m ready to work again already. I’ve applied for quite a few jobs so hopefully I hear something soon (or win the lottery), fingers crossed everyone!

Inside this little green house was a sign which said, “All trespassers will be composted.”

Today I explored Stanton Drew the Stone Circle. It was a really lovely day, the sun was shining, it was warm and there were hardly any people around, perfect!

The Stone Circle consists of 26 stones altogether, amongst them is The Great Circle which measures 113 metres in diameter, making it the third largest complex of prehistoric standing stones in England.

After a long walk around the stones, losing then finding my earring, I made my way to The Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Its a quaint, small church at the end of the road. A hidden gem, this church dates all the way back to the 13th century. Thankfully they have a loo as well, as this was quite a long walk!

After this long, stunning walk I got to my car and there was a man there, struggling with his phone’s blue tooth. We got talking and I found out he was originally from California and lived in Bristol. An hour and a half later, we finished our conversation and I made my way home. Its funny how you can have such long conversations with total strangers!
