Somewhere in the countryside on the outskirts of Bristol (I won’t say where just incase I get into trouble), we went Urban Exploring. It was so much fun and I’m already trying to find new places to explore. So if you know of any in the UK, please leave a comment and let me know!
Amongst the deserted buildings of the quarry runs a single track where a cart still stands. I couldn’t find much history of the place online but it hasn’t been touched for at least twenty years. Then again I’m no expert and pretty terrible with guessing, so who knows!?
Inside one of the buildings, was this huge birds nest! I put my foot in the shot for a size comparison. I did see a Grey Heron hanging around the water so it was probably hers but could of also been a buzzard’s, as we get a lot of those around here.
It’s been great having time to be outside and explore after spending so long working crazy hours. Especially with friends that we haven’t been able to see for a while. We’ll saying that, we’ve actually moved in with them for a couple of months. So I guess we’ll be seeing a lot more of them and hopefully exploring much more!
I’ve searched every where online for history of this place, as I love doing a deep dive and finding out everything I can. However, I couldn’t find a single thing, not even a name. Which sort of adds to the mysterious abandonment and the appeal.
It’s a mystery I guess!
