Day 7 Belfast, PEI to Tatamagouche, NS

Today’s ride was a pretty short one. I think we must be slowing down, which is why I’m happy to report we treated ourselves to a motel!

Waking up in a soggy tent which was now full of ants thanks to last night’s s’mores, might of had something to do with that decision. Oh and of course the rain!

The campsite we stayed at was very nice however it did double as a golf course. So squeaking around in my crocs whilst packing away, was a little awkward with people trying to tea off close by.

Luckily the weather was lovely for the most part. We left the campsite in sunshine and headed straight to (you’ve guessed it) Tim Hortons. I should be sponsored by them at this rate.

After some coffee, sugar and fuel we set off again and it wasn’t long before we got to a place I’d been desperate to stop at the day before. The Giant Cow! Or I should say, the Creamery.

When we got there, there was a man walking a cat on a leash which he had just retrieved out of a push chair. I really wish I could of taken a photo but I didn’t want to intrude but believe me, it was weird and wonderful.

Although I don’t eat much dairy being lactose intolerant, I did risk it for a little bag of chocolate. Chocolate doesn’t count as dairy right?

Riding back across the Confederation Bridge was a lot more enjoyable this time. Riding in the sun with a blue sky is a much better way of seeing the horizon of the Atlantic Ocean.

We were quite sneaky here and pulled into an area you’re not meant to just for the photos. I supposed you guessed that by the no stopping sign though right? Otherwise we had to pay to go into a picnic area and we only wanted a quick snap so I’m sure you all won’t judge me too harshly.

We powered on through Nova Scotia stopping for fuel and lunch when we needed. There wasn’t too much longer in the saddle until we were at our motel. It had started to rain again so you can imagine the relief!

We settled down for a dinner of fish and chips whilst all of our electronics recharged. When I say I slept like a log in this bed, that would be an understatement. This motel stay was definitely needed and I was very sad it was for one night only.

As always thank you so much for reading. If you enjoyed this post please let me know by leaving a like, comment or buying me a coffee. Also make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss the next post!

  1. Wow – a thirteen kilometer long bridge (I’ve just looked it up) and it’s just had its thirtieth birthday (since construction started anyway). A great trip and at times challenging I bet.
