Nothing sets in those holiday blues like being stuck in a tent, whilst it pours down with no sign of it clearing up.
Sadly we only had a couple of days left of our trip and desperate make some distance, the rain was not letting up. On the plus side however, we were so glad we took our neighbour’s advice and moved our tent. If we hadn’t, we would of been laying in a big puddle when we woke up.
I was pretty cranky from the night before and to add to that, I had to walk almost a kilometre to the toilet block. When I came back I looked like a drowned rat and felt like one too. As we waited for the rain to clear, we decided tonight we would stay in a hotel so we could dry everything off and have a break from the weather.

Eventually the rain settled to spotting so we could finally start packing up. Being from England we’re used to the rain, however this holiday has been something else!
As I was sat in the tent organising, I heard a funny sniffing sound. Then there was the unmistakable sound of paws on the ground sheet. I looked up and someone’s dog had snuck into our tent!

This was exactly what I needed. Dogs are angels that walk among us. My bad mood evaporated as soon as I looked into those big brown eyes. I gave the dog a cuddle and eventually he snuck off to visit the next humans he found.

Because of the bad weather, we were riding straight for our next destination, which meant a lot of motorway riding and a very dull blog post (apologies). The whole ride my feet and crotch were soaked through (my waterproofs had split). The only thing keeping me positive was the jacuzzi at the hotel and a queen bed all to myself.

After a couple of coffee and fuel stops, we made it to the Hotel Le Victorin in Victoriaville, Quebec.
I dumped the bags, peeled out of my clothes and had a lovely, hot and most needed shower. There is nothing better when you’re cold and soggy than having a shower and putting on clean, dry clothes. Well I say clothes, I mean my swimming costume ready for the jacuzzi.

I fell asleep at 8:45pm watching a terrible hallmark movie where Christmas was saved by the big city girl quitting her job, moving back home and marrying her high school sweetheart to save a bakery… Hallmark movies are a cultural staple for Americans that I adore but also am puzzled by. If you’ve seen one you’ve seen them all!

Thank you, the experience was definitely worth it all though!

It’s too bad you experienced so much rain on your trip. Sounds miserable. The hotel sounds nice. Hallmark movies do have similar plots, but people like them as you can count on everything working out.

That’s very true, it’s a nice comfort movie.
The rain was a shame but we had a great experience all the same 😁

Yes I’ve been back for a while, this trip was in August/September I’ve just been posting weekly so it’s taken me a while! Funnily enough, we are on another road trip tomorrow only we’ll be driving to Florida not riding because it’s too cold 😆

No blog that includes a dog could possibly be dull.
