MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Before I continue with my blog post, I just wanted to wish you and your family a very merry Christmas! I hope you have a wonderful day and spend this festive season eating too much and having fun with the ones you love. Thank you for following my little blog and keeping up with my travels however odd they become!
Seeing as we were now in Kentucky, it was very important for me to have some Kentucky Fried Chicken. I didn’t plan on having it for breakfast but anything seems to go in Cracker Barrel. To go with my chicken, I had french toast and fried apples and it was delicious.

Feeling very full (and a bit sicky) we took our Jetta up to a near by viewpoint which gave a great view of Cincinnati. I would of loved to of spent longer exploring this city but when on a road trip, the show must go on!

As many of you will know by now, I love exploring cemeteries so of course we were stopping at the Cave Hill Cemetery of Louisville.

This cemetery is full of beautiful memorials and not only that, a few celebrities. Its a really beautiful place to explore and whilst we were there, we paid our respects to Colonel Sanders, Mr Magic and Muhammed Ali whilst we were there.

We kept on the trend of final resting places and went on to see the shrines of Saint Magnus and Saint Bonosa. These shrines contain their skeletons among other items that are on display behind glass, at the back of the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Parish Church. It didn’t feel right taking photos of them, so I only took a photo the inside of the church. Also a lady kept kneeling next to me and praying every time I stopped. This happened three times so I left, I’m not sure what that meant but it felt kind of strange.

I love veering off the tourist trail and finding the local’s favourite spots so when I discovered the Witch’s tree, I was very excited.
This tree is said to of been a gathering place for a coven in the late 19th century. They held ceremonies at the tree and were overall a peaceful bunch. That was until the the city’s planning committee decided to cut down the sacred tree.

This upset the witches so much, they cursed the town and 11 months later, a great storm hit the area. The storm was severe and during it, the stump of the tree was struck by lightening. Later, a new tree began to grow from the strike which was enough to convince the town the curse was real. Today the town leaves offerings on the tree to appease the witches and (hopefully) keep the peace.

Whilst we were driving a long the highway, Mitch very excitedly pointed out a sign for Kentucky’s Pocket Knife Museum. This is right up his street so after dragging him around all of the morbid things I like, it was only fair we stopped in.

Outside of the museum is the world’s largest pocket knife (we love record breakers on this blog). It is free to tour this museum and its definitely worth a stop if you’re travelling through this area. It’s very difficult to go through the store and not buy anything, so I bought Mitch a knife and a t-shirt (a belated birthday present) and for myself this pretty cool top!

You may of seen a few of years ago, I visited Stone Henge in Sailsbury. Stone Henge is an iconic prehistoric site recognised as a mystery and wonder all around the worldp, but did you know there is also one in Kentucky?

This site was created by Munfordville local, Chester Fryer. He scoured 1000 acres to find the perfect stones for his masterpiece. This display is free to the public but as it is in Chester’s driveway. please keep this in mind if visiting.

Later that day, we saw that outside our hotel there was a food bowl and then later saw this big cat. The picture is very blurry but does anyone know if this is a domestic cat or something else? Am I being dramatic here?
As always thank you so much for reading. If you enjoyed this post please let me know by leaving a like, comment or buying me a coffee. Also make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss the next post!

What a sweet church. You always find the most unusual places.
Hope you had a Merry Christmas.
