If my budget stretched far enough and I could justify having one everyday, I would definitely get a massage every day.
The traditional Bali massage is a bit strange but very good. They perform a technique where they thump you and hit their closed hands on you. It makes a loud clapping sound so the first time you hear it, it’s quite startling. They also click their fingers when they pull your fingers and toes so you do have a puzzled moment on whether you clicked or they did.
I just had a back and foot massage and it was heavenly. I always feel very awkward with eye contact and conversation when I get a masssage. Is it weird if you watch someone massaging your feet? Where do you look? Do you make small talk? AHH.
Also, I can never get my head in he correct position on a massage bed. I always end up choking, too polite to move or say anything. Why is it that British people will put up with anything because they don’t want to be impolite? I literally had my windpipe wedged against the table. Yet still, I will lay there and stay silent?!
The massage itself was great, I am just an awkward human being.
For £4 (including a tip) you would be silly not to get one.
haha these gifs are perfect. I got a massage when I was in Bali as well and loved it…I just pretend to doze off whenever I get a massage to avoid the eye contact.
