Whilst road tripping up the East Coast, we stopped at Bondi beach for the day. Well, we planned it to be a day but on arrival our plans quickly changed to a few hours!
IT WAS SO BUSY.
Being from the bustling city of Bristol, I’m used to crowds but when everyone is almost naked, my tolerance changes a bit. The image below was the most quiet part of the beach we could find. After the peaceful secluded beaches of the coast, it was a bit too crammed for our liking.
We didn’t want to miss out though so we had a dip in the sea, which didn’t seem to be as packed and with good reason, it was freezing!
I’m so glad we came here as it one of the most popular destinations on the East Coast (as you can see) but I just wish we came on a week day!
We have been watching Bondi rescue a lot lately and a lot of the time the beach seems to be this busy. This is with good reason, if you took the hundreds of tourists out it would be lovely. The sea is beautifully blue and the surf is great. There is also wall art a long the beach walk which is really cool.
Its always disappointing when such a hyped destination does not live up to expectations! I used to watch Bondi Rescue all the time haha!!

Try to go on a week day and go quite early to beat the crowds 🙂

I loved Bondi Beach. We visited back in September, so it was only Spring, and not as packed. We went on a Monday afternoon, and it felt like we had the place to ourselves 😀
The water was still freezing then.

Huge fan of Bondi Rescue but seeing how crowded the beach gets on that show… I think I’ll stick to my beach at the Sunshine Coast! hehe

Never made it to Bondi, but we wouldn’t have enjoyed the crowds either 😜 Thanks for visiting my blog!

I’m so happy I wasn’t the only one that felt this! 😂 My boyfriend and I got there, laid towels down for 10 minutes and decided it was a little overrated for us and we had seen so many nicer beaches already- and that was a week into being in aus. All about the secluded beaches. ✌🏼

Couldn’t agree more! Secluded beaches are the best ones 🙂

I was surprised – I actually really liked Bondi, although I expected to hate it because of the crowds. I didn’t spend long there either though – we did the coastal walk to Coogee, which is TOTALLY worth it! 🙂

That’s awesome!
Yeah crowds aren’t really our thing and we had just spent eight months in the country with hardly any one around. Bit of a shock to the system! Ha ha 🙂

Such an overrated beach! I don’t understand why it’s such a popular location. There’s much better beaches with far less people along the coast!
